Editor Obsessions: Junya Watanabe’s Tactile Biker Jacket

-------

Every day, Style.com’s editors reveal their current obsessions—and where to buy them. Check out today’s pick, below.

Junya

This weekend, I went on a fashion odyssey. Among a few (too many) other things, I purchased the above Junya Watanabe skirt. (It’s on my body currently, and it makes me feel like a badass ballerina.) Naturally, I’m now lusting after Watanabe’s sequin-embellished biker jacket. The sleeves look as though a butterfly was crossbred with a black rose and a gothic flamenco dancer. And those pointy velvet shoulders? I can’t stop thinking about them. In short, this topper is going to have to make its way into my closet immediately.

Sometimes, walking is difficult. Particularly if you, like me, favor towering spikes over sensible footwear. Clearly, Alexander McQueen understands this, which is why the brand offers my latest obsession: a skull-capped walking cane. In black and silver, this accouterment matches my entire wardrobe (not to mention my apartment—it’s going to be a great addition to my foyer). And to answer the question raised by the entire Style.com edit staff: No. I am not concerned about looking like The Penguin.

Editor Obsessions: Heather Huey’s Rhinestone-Embellished Bunny Ears

Heather Huey

My obsession this week fuses my two true loves: hats and my black rabbit, Mssr. François Froufrou. I am about to order Heather Huey’s spectacular rhinestone-embellished bunny ears. Naturally, I’ll wear them as an ode to my furry companion, and I envision pairing them with a voluminous Comme des Garçons look. I’m also planning on donning Huey’s headpiece on Halloween. You see, with this topper, I can throw on my vintage black jumpsuit and dress as François. François will then wear his custom Piers Atkinson top hat and go as me—pending his approval, of course. As Amy Sedaris told me, bunny’s always the boss.

Editor Obsessions: Yazbukey’s C’est Ahh iPhone Case

Every day, Style.com’s editors reveal their current obsessions—and where to buy them. Check out today’s pick, below.

yazbukeyOver the past few years, I’ve developed an obsession with red lips. I wear rouge stain on my smackers every day; one of my favorite hats is my Victoria Grant red velvet lip beret (accented with a crystal-tipped cigarette, naturally); and I recently acquired a cherry Solange Azagury-Partridge pout ring, which I wear on my middle finger for obvious reasons. My latest mouthy must-have is Yazbukey’s C’est Ahh iPhone case. The black silicone cover boasts the designer’s signature parted-lip motif, as well as a blank speech bubble that you can fill in yourself. I just ordered my cover, and if you’re wondering, my bubble is going to read, “Shh!”

Editor Obsessions: Antique Tiffany & Co. Vanity Set

Anyone who’s glanced at my Instagram account is well aware that my black rabbit, Mssr. François Froufrou, is the love of my life. He currently has such exciting accessories as a custom Piers Atkinson top hat, black-and-white harlequin-check mats, and a Chanel box in which he likes to sleep. François is very particular about what I use to brush him, and I think he would enjoy this Rococo sterling silver vanity set by Tiffany & Co. I love the cherubs on each piece—little angles, just like my Mssr. Froufrou. Is it ridiculous to get a rabbit an early 20th-century vanity set? Absolutely. However, ridiculous happens to be my middle name. (Actually, my middle name is Klaire, but I’m trying to make a point.) Not to mention, if he tires of these antique treasures, they’d look great in my bedroom.
