George Clooney Will Exchange Vows in Giorgio Armani

-------

George ClooneyGeorge Clooney’s September wedding is really happening. WWD reports that Clooney’s go-to designer, Giorgio Armani, is designing the longtime bachelor’s tuxedo. Sources say Armani sent an entire team from the Milan office up to Clooney’s home in Lake Como to ensure that he and his groomsmen get a perfect fit.

The excitement surrounding this piece of news might signal a new trend in wedding coverage. While the public is usually focused on the bride—Amal Alamuddin is rumored to be wearing Oscar de la Renta—grooms have been stepping it up as of late. Kanye West married Kim Kardashian in custom Givenchy back in May, setting a new standard for his millions of male fans. Clooney will likely go a more traditional route with his tux, but he may just beat out Kanye for best-dressed groom of 2014.

The 10 Best Moments from Riccardo Tisci’s Ibiza Birthday Bash

-------

When we first heard that Riccardo Tisci would celebrate his 40th B-Day with a few (hundred) of his closest friends, in Ibiza, on a horse stud farm, we were fully prepared for an influx of “HBD @riccardotisci17″-captioned Instagrams. Every one of the Givenchy designer’s longtime nearest and dearest, like Mariacarla Boscono to his some of his new devotees like Kardashian/Jenner clan (Justin Bieber was also there. We’re still trying to figure this one out) quickly flooded our feeds with that may have been the most Instagrammed birthday party in history. In addition to a performance by Kanye West (surprise!), a Studio ’74 theme (get it? It’s the year Tisci was born.), and a four-tiered birthday cake (yes, fashion people eat birthday cake), Tisci was treated to a pair of 24-karat-gold Beats by Dre headphones, which were bestowed upon him by Naomi Campbell, before she and Kate Moss broke into “Happy Birthday.” Here, the 10 most memorable moments from Riccardo Tisci’s 40th birthday bash—plus, an exclusive bonus video of Tisci making a wish. #Ibiza74

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, you’re well aware that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West finally exchanged vows in Florence, Italy, this weekend. And naturally, the pair wore custom Givenchy designs by their fashion-world bestie, Riccardo Tisci. While Kanye opted for a black tux with trousers that resembled biker pants, Mrs. West donned a lacy play on look 11 from the Fall ’11 couture collection. While the gown’s mermaid train and sheer white inserts weren’t quite virginal, the look was a tasteful, almost classic choice for the ever-racy Kim K. Cheers to the happy, designer-decked couple.

Let’s Spend the Night Together: A Brief History of Celebrity Weddings Pre-Kimye

Audrey HepburnJudging by the tabloid fuss over Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding weekend, you would think this is the first time two famous people have gotten hitched. But when the pair celebrate their nuptials in Florence—the original Kingdom of Dopeness—on Saturday night, they will be following in the footsteps of a wide range of celebrity couples before them. For instance, there was Sean Penn and Madonna’s 1985 oceanside Malibu wedding—attended by the likes of Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Cher—during which the groom scrawled FUCK OFF in the sand to deter airborne paparazzi. Going back further, there was Audrey Hepburn’s deeply elegant 1954 wedding to Mel Ferrer, for which she wore a custom Balmain tea-length gown. And who could forget David Beckham and Posh Spice’s nineties extravaganza, during which the latter donned a mini crown? Here, a look back at what happens when celebrities exchange vows.
