Editor Obsessions: BLK DNM’s Blazer 6

-------

Every day, Style.com’s editors reveal their current obsessions—and where to buy them. Check out today’s pick, below.

blk dnmOver the past few months, I’ve spent a disarming amount of time considering the perfect blazer. While my closet isn’t lacking in the garment, all my iterations are too boxy or leave something to be desired where fabric is concerned. The one upside to my newly minted status as an insomniac, though? I’ve had a lot of time to lie in bed, racking my brain for further options. And so it hit me recently: BLK DNM, a go-to for many of my wardrobe staples. Johan Lindeberg (who celebrates his birthday today—happy birthday, Johan!) and I are on the same page where tailoring is concerned: The sharper and slimmer, the better. My sleepless nights have lately been dancing with visions of BLK DNM’s double-breasted Blazer 6. And since the downtown denim brand has just launched e-commerce, I can now ponder the purchase at 3 a.m. from the comfort of my apartment. Time well spent, I say.

As someone with a deep love of opals (my birthstone) and the kind of delicate, unimposing jewelry that’s become synonymous with Williamsburg jewelry mecca Catbird, WWAKE is my favorite find this year. The fiery little stones are a key element among most of its designs, which makes it hard to pick just one, but this simple pairing of an opal and a petite diamond is calling out to me. I’d also heartily endorse following WWAKE on Instagram for behind-the-scenes snaps from its Brooklyn studio and serious stacking inspiration.

Editor Obsessions: Bliss and Mischief’s Shadows of Mountains Jeans

Kristin Anderson's obsession

My denim fixation has reached a fever pitch lately (a particular shout-out to Jean Stories here!). On my wish list, just below a lusciously faded pair of old Levi’s 606s? Bliss and Mischief’s Shadows of Mountains jeans. The recently launched California brand is the brainchild of Hillary Justin and specializes in made-to-order, hand-embroidered vintage pieces, from military jackets to dungarees like this pair. And if Gram Parsons or seventies Topanga Canyon vibes aren’t your personal cup of tea, Justin also curates a beautiful selection of Japanese boro textiles (another obsession of mine).

Editor Obsessions: The Writer Mod Folio From This Is Ground

As an adolescent, I was profoundly disorganized. I’ve overcome that through a borderline fetish-y adoration of cool categorizers and life-management tools. But of all those I’ve seen and coveted, L.A.-based This Is Ground’s Mod is my new gold standard. This elevated take on the traditional folio is made from a buttery-looking leather and zips up into a chic, portable case. Available for a variety of occupations, from the Executive to the Jeweler to the Explorer (compass pocket, anyone?), chances are there’s a version to suit your needs. I’m coveting the Writer Mod, which boasts space for a book, pencils, et al. The best part? You can buy inserts individually, for a totally customized version. Thanks to the ease of snapping on an Illustrator addition, I may just take up drawing again.

Editor Obsessions: Altewaisaome Whiskey Top

-------

_altewaisaometopMy closet is littered with more than a few “dramatic exit” tops that I rarely wear. Regardless of how much I like them, they tend to leave me feeling too exposed to sport to the office. This one, however, from the Swedish label Altewaisaome, isn’t going to be getting dusty like the rest of my split-back shirts. With its generous boxy proportions, sharp lines, and V-back, it ticks all the boxes. Plus, it’s a perfect daytime counterpart to eveningwear’s latest leanings toward a more covered-up cool.
