An Early Glimpse at Tonight’s Secret Victoria’s Secret Model Lineup

-------

Victoria's Secret rehersal

Walking the annual Victoria’s Secret extravaganza is a milestone in any model’s career. After all, it’s as much about lighting up the stage with your personality (not to mention dance moves—who could forget Jourdan Dunn doing the robot last year?) as it is about having a killer body, and being able to smile while strutting with a pair of thirty-pound wings on your back. While there’s no way to confirm exactly who will be appearing on the VS catwalk this evening alongside Taylor Swift, we’ve come up with an educated guess based on social media clues gathered over the past week, as well as shots from yesterday’s rehearsal (like the one above, featuring Sara Sampaio, Martha Hunt, Jasmine Tookes, and Leva Laguna working the runway).

Victoria's secret

Of course there are bound to be appearances by veteran Angels such as Adriana Lima (it will be her fourteenth time participating in the show), Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss, and Cara Delevingne. [Regrettably, Miranda Kerr announced she will be ending her contract with the lingerie megalith to pursue other projects.] Those aforementioned supers are all but givens at this point, and so it’s the remaining twenty-plus coveted slots—selected by casting director John Pfeiffer—that really get us excited. Style.com has learned that several high fashion runway regulars will be making their VS debuts tonight: Sigrid Agren and Josephine Skriver (both posted snapshots of themselves sporting the official Angels bomber jacket on Instagram), as well as Ming Xi, Maria Borges, Kasia Struss, and Jac. We were even more thrilled to hear that some our top Spring ’14 newcomers including Malaika Firth, Devon Windsor, Cindy Bruno, and Sara Sampaio also beat out dozens of more established girls to earn their first pair of wings.

Rag & Bone’s Super DIY

-------

Since they were first implemented in 2011, Rag & Bone/JEANS’ guerilla DIY campaigns—in which models photograph themselves while wearing the brand’s smart urban duds—have featured everyone from Miranda Kerr and Lily Aldridge to Candice Swanepoel and Carolyn Murphy. This season, designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville have embraced fashion’s renewed obsession with nineties supers, tapping Erin O’Connor and Kirsty Hume as their Fall ’13 faces. The ads rolled out today, and it seems Hume went above and beyond, sending Rag & Bone not only some personal snaps, but a DIY video that she shot with a little help from her friends. Lensed in Topanga Canyon, California, the sun-drenched short debuts here, exclusively on Style.com.

Anna Dello Russo Says Ciao To H&M, Another King Of Leon Finds His Model Queen, And More…

-------

Having blown through just about every European fashion designer, H&M is now stocking its racks with European fashion editors. The retailer has tapped Anna Dello Russo for its next collaboration. Dello Russo will create accessories, largely in gold and turquoise, set to hit 140 H&M stores on October 4. [WWD]

Marrying models seems to run in the Followill familly. Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill has confirmed his engagement to Click model Martha Patterson. Last year, his brother Caleb married Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge; the two are expecting their first child this summer. [Vogue U.K.]

Cindy Crawford put her 10-year-old daughter Kaia’s modeling career on hold after the young model was photographed for a provocative Versace ad that Crawford wasn’t too happy about. But that didn’t stop Kaia from starring alongside her mother and grandmother in JCPenney’s Mother’s Day campaign video, “Things My Mom Gave Me.” [The Hollywood Reporter]

Collette Dinnigan will not be showing her collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, but she will be taking a bow. The designer is slated to accept the fifth annual Fashion Laureate Award, following in the footsteps of Easton Pearson and Carla Zampatti. [The Australian]

Ralph Rucci: The Film, A Princeling Of Leon, Going Gaga On eBay, And More…

-------

February’s set to bring out whole new sides of Chado’s Ralph Rucci. The couturier (one of the only Americans ever to show at Paris Couture) is the subject of a new coffee-table book celebrating his 30 years in business and a new documentary film, to be screened at New York fashion week, by director and former curator Christian Leigh. “If he wants to work on one dress for 16 weeks, he won’t compromise,” Leigh said of his tireless subject. The Wall Street Journal takes on the phenomenon of pre-fall, which is gaining ground in celebrity dressing. Attention, celebs and stylists: We’ve got it all right here. [WSJ]

Is there about to be a Prince of Leon? Sources say that Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill and his wife, model Lily Aldridge, are expecting their first child—and that she’s three months along, meaning she would have walked the Victoria’s Secret runway show pregnant. [E!]

If the Lady’s a tramp, she’s an expensive one. A nude sketch of one Lady Gaga (above) by Tony Bennett (her duet partner on a new version of “The Lady Is a Tramp”) sold for $30,000 on eBay, as part of Vanity Fair‘s auction of items from its January 2012 issue. The entire sale raised $46,261 for Exploring the Arts and Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. [Vanity Fair]

Haute Holidays

-------

What do you give the girl (or guy) who has everything? That’s what Style.com’s senior market editor Marina Larroude set out to discover when she polled style setters and tastemakers about what they’d get their equally stylish pals for the holidays. It wasn’t always easy to find that special something—how do you get noted bibliophile Karl Lagerfeld a book he doesn’t have?—but the likes of Miranda Kerr, Jen Brill, Lily and Ruby Aldridge, Scott Schuman and Garance Doré, and more managed nicely. (And in the case of the Kaiser? Brill found a book she’s almost sure isn’t on his shelves: Bunny Yeager’s Camera in Jamaica.) Read on to find out what fashion’s royalty is getting this year.
