Paul McCartney’s Opening Ceremony, And More Of Today’s Top Stories

Sir Paul McCartney has been confirmed to close the Opening Ceremony at the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games next month. The full lineup for the ceremony, however, has yet to be released. [BBC]

With a handful of designer collaborations under its belt, including DVF and Valentino, Gap has decided to team up with menswear designer Todd Snyder for its latest pop-up shop. Snyder, who used to work for the brand, lent his creative hand to the installation and curation of the temporary outpost on Fifth Avenue and 54th Street. The shop will be open through June 30. [WWD]

The World Gold Council is celebrating gold as the ultimate luxury material, with a summer exhibition at the Goldsmiths’ Hall opening July 1. Four hundred pieces, some dating back 4,500 years, will be on display, alongside newer items from designers such as Wright & Teague and more. [Dazed Digital]
