The 15 Stylish Looks You Loved Most This Week

-------

071814_Look_Of_The_Day_Roundup_BLOG[2]Have you been keeping up with our Look of the Day polls? It’s our favorite way to share our latest obsessions, from fresh runway styles to looks we spotted on the street. It’s hard to play favorites, so we turn it over to you. The trends we were coveting this week? For starters, Monday had us feeling extra nostalgic for the nineties—Calvin Klein underwear is back. Since sporty activewear is still the cool-girl uniform of choice, it’s no wonder those thick elastic bands are popping up everywhere. Italian blogger and front-row regular Chiara Ferragni wore her classic sports bra under a sheer dress, an unlikely pairing that won your vote. On Wednesday, we dedicated our Look of the Day to Thor comic books. Marvel just announced the main character will now be represented as a woman, so we rounded up five of our favorite superhero-inspired runway moments of late. At Stella McCartney’s  Resort 2015 presentation, models sported superhero-mask motifs on leather bags, jumpsuits, dresses, and even their nail polish. The cute, unexpected pattern was No. 1 in your book. What else was on Style.com editors’ minds this week? Models off-duty, Gisele Bündchen’s birthday, and summertime gingham. Click here to see all the winners, plus a few runners-up, for a full weekend of style inspiration.

The 15 Stylish Looks You Loved This Week

071114_Look_Of_The_Day_Roundup_BLOG[3]This week, our collective conscience (and inbox) was overwhelmed by Paris couture. Between star-studded parties; hundreds of street-style pics; and, of course, the runway shows themselves, you could say we were a bit preoccupied. Our popular Look of the Day polls revealed everything we’re loving about the new collections, from the accessory you can wear now to the dresses destined for the red carpet. On Tuesday, for example, we took note of a couture mini trend: head scarves. At Giambattista Valli, models sported white bow-tied sashes that could surely help us all beat the heat this summer. The feminine, retro look was No. 1 in your book. First runner-up Marco Zanini also opted for head scarves at Schiaparelli, enlisting milliner Stephen Jones to design a luxe do-rag. On Wednesday, we took note of the stylish mommies-to-be spotted at couture, namely Ashleigh Good’s much-buzzed-about closing look at Chanel. It took first place by a landslide. What were we coveting on Thursday? Fendi’s new Karlito buggie, of course. It debuted on the Fall ’14 runways and has quickly become the fashion set’s favorite party prop—Alexandra Richards (above) gave the furry bauble a kiss on Tuesday at Fendi’s party. The Kaiser himself was even spotted carrying Karlito through the streets of Paris.

062714_Look_Of_The_Day_Roundup_BLOG[1]Every day we ask Style.com readers to weigh in on the latest trends. Whether it’s overalls, floral prints, or graphic tees, we trust you to make the call in our Look of the Day poll. With Resort and menswear shows in full swing this week, we’ve been spoiled with new trends to try. On Monday, our eyes were on crisp, all-white ensembles. It was no surprise that Edie Campbell’s sporty Hugo Boss Resort look won top prize—think of it as normcore at its finest. Narciso Rodriguez, Derek Lam, Rosie Assoulin, and dozens more are in favor of head-to-toe ivory as well. On Tuesday, we saw short shorts make a comeback for both women and men. Mary Katrantzou showed her trademark eye-catching prints on high-waisted, up-to-there mini shorts. Even the boys can try out the trend next season: At Calvin Klein Collection, Italo Zucchelli layered cropped neon shorts over longer boxer briefs. On Wednesday, we got into the Shark Week spirit with Jaws-inspired looks. Theophilus London performed at Philipp Plein’s Spring ’15 menswear show last Saturday on the back of a Jet Ski and sported an appropriate shark-embroidered vest (above). Mark your calendars—Shark Week premieres August 10 on Discovery Channel.

The Best Looks Of The Week, As Chosen By Style.com Readers

062214_Look_Of_The_Day_Roundup-blog[5][1]Style.com editors were dreaming of color this week, and it showed in our Look of the Day polls. Blame it on Marina Larroudé’s recent rainbow-themed shopping story or even the World Cup, with all the face-painted fans, neon soccer (I mean, football) jerseys, and waving flags from every corner of the globe. In fact, that bold, international spirit inspired Tuesday’s Look of the Day: M Missoni’s crocheted dress featuring Jamaica’s national colors took home the most votes. A close second was Zero + Maria Cornejo’s cobalt, citron, and green color-blocked ensemble, which was inspired by the Brazilian flag. On Thursday, we explored graphic Resort stripes. In Technicolor hues and eye-catching patterns—like Valentino’s winning zigzag dress, pictured above—they’re a fresh alternative to your basic nautical motif. Other trends on our mind this week? Daisy prints, bucket hats, and so much more. Click here for all the winning looks, and check back next week for our latest obsessions.

The Best Looks of the Week, According to Style.com Readers

061514_Look_Of_The_Day_Roundup_blogIn this week’s Look of the Day polls, we shared which trends are on our minds—then asked you to play favorites. On Monday, we called out the best asymmetrical looks from Resort ’15. Who would have guessed Stella McCartney, Reed Krakoff, and Proenza Schouler (among countless others) would all bring back the slashed hemline? McCartney’s winning look, a floaty cutout dress from her Elizabeth Street garden party, looked especially fresh with mixed prints and sky-high platforms. Later in the week, we dedicated Wednesday’s poll to our model of the moment, Jamie Bochert. No doubt you’re seeing her face everywhere these days, from The Line’s new lookbook to the CFDA Awards red carpet, where she stood out among a sea of ball gowns. Stella McCartney won again on Thursday for her well-executed paisley prints—though Emily Blunt’s vibrant Osman dress was a close second. And on Friday, we wished Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen a happy 28th birthday with a roundup of their best looks of late (which was no easy task). Their understated gowns at this year’s Charles James: Beyond Fashion Met Gala naturally took home first prize.
