Have you met Miss Wu? That’s the name of Jason Wu’s contemporary line created in collaboration with Nordstrom, named after the designer’s emblem of a hand-drawn owl. The collection will start with ready-to-wear, followed by accessories in 2014. “Instead of just doing ‘Jason Wu-for-less,’ the idea is to explore the other side of myself,” says Wu. [WWD]

Michael Kors is all about old Hollywood glamour, and it really shows in his Fall campaign. This is the fifth time that the models have worked together for Kors. [WWD]

When supermodel Doutzen Kroes saw the recent cover of Vogue China, she was surprised at what she saw. The magazine had photoshopped her image so that she looked as though she only had one leg. “I think photoshopping is OK until something like that happens,” she said. “You don’t want to lose one of your limbs.” Agreed. Taylor Swift just gave Lady Gaga a run for her money—literally. The country pop singer has taken reign as the highest-earning star under 30 years old, taking in an impressive $57 million. Fontana On Her Faith: “Rock ‘n’ Roll Meets Sophia Loren”

-------

“I feel like a grandmother of the models right now because they are all so young,” 28-year-old model Isabeli Fontana (pictured) told Style.com last night. “I am not that young anymore and I have two kids, and I want to spread wings and try something new.”

Not to worry, the Pirelli calendar girl is not calling it quits on modeling just yet, but last night it was one of her new endeavors, a capsule collection she designed for French brand Faith Connexion (the label collaborated with Annabelle Dexter-Jones back in February), that she was celebrating at Cipriani Downtown. Of the collection, due out in November, the Brazilian stunner (who has been a muse to the label for several years) told Style.com, “I love rock ‘n’ roll style, but cool, not too punk. So, I mixed a little of my style with Sophia Loren and the result is a collection of subtle, sensual pieces in beachy colors.” She added, “It’s summer, so it can’t be too much rock ‘n’ roll, but I still had to put some leather in there.” (As a testament to her leather love, she was wearing ample doses of it last night.) It’s not, however, her first turn as a designer. “I have done something for the Brazilian label C&A. I also did a kids’ collection in Brazil because there aren’t enough cool clothes for kids (I don’t like cutesy stuff), and my fiancé has a charity and he wants me to be an ambassador for that—I am doing T-shirts to help the charity and a sexy little bikini line,” she said, in between greeting the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Constance Jablonski, and Mario Testino.

For those out of the loop, her fiancé is Rohan Marley (son of the late reggae legend Bob Marley), who was standing nearby. Of the wedding, which is taking place in the birthplace of the Rastafarian movement (Ethiopia), she said, “He wants to get married there—it’s a way of life, it’s about taking care of your body, your soul, your experience.” More importantly, of her dress, she revealed, “I talked to Dolce about it already and they are going to do my dress, inspired by Sophia Loren, of course.”

Kanye West showed his short film Cruel Summer in Cannes last week, but it’s not the film that has people talking, it’s the over-the-top pyramid where he showed it. The structure, which featured a panoramic backdrop of Cannes, was built by Rem Koolhaas’s architecture firm OMA, to seat 200. Word on the street is that the film and the pyramid will be making their way around the world. [Styleite]

The Full Testino, Just A Click Away

-------

Well worth a few minutes of your clicking this afternoon: the new and improved MarioTestino.com, which launched today in a revamped version spearheaded by creative agency King & Partners. The site features a deep archive of vintage Testino work searchable by publication, brand, or type, as well as Testino films, videos of gallery exhibitions featuring his work worldwide, publications, collaborations, and information about MATE, the nonprofit Testino established in his native Peru to provide support to Peruvian artists. While those require a little digging in, there are more visceral pleasures to be had, too—key among them, the wealth of vintage gold, like videos of Testino on set and soon-to-be-classic shots of some of his great muses, like this one of Kate Moss.
