Hollywood’s Most Powerful Stylists Revealed

The results are in. Today, The Hollywood Reporter released its third annual list of Hollywood’s 25 Most Powerful Stylists. The winners include big names we’ve been hearing a lot about of late—Kate Young, who’s been whipping up a buzz with her new Target collection (and who styles Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, and Natalie Portman), came in at number four. Elizabeth Stewart, who chronicled her experience styling Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Chastain, Julia Roberts, and Cody Horn for the Golden Globes for, came in at number five. And Rachel Zoe, who styled Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence in their much-talked-about Oscar gowns, slid in at number three. Petra Flannery, who styles Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana, and Megan Fox, was this year’s runner-up. And the big winner is (drumroll, please) Leslie Fremar, who styles discerning stars like Julianne Moore, Charlize Theron, and Jennifer Connelly. A surprise on the list was designer (and Mick Jagger’s girlfriend) L’Wren Scott, who came in at number sixteen for dressing Nicole Kidman.

Theyskens For Theory, A Very Collectible Crüe, And More…

Like his Spring ’11 Theory collection? Good news for you: Today, Olivier Theyskens was named artistic director for all of Theory. The line starts now. [WWD]

This is the kind of infographic we can’t get enough of: The reporters at Racked have stacked up the prices of vintage band tees at NYC boutique Scout to see whose musical stock is highest. The takeaway? Do like Megan Fox (left) and invest in Motley Crüe. Now there’s a phrase we never thought we’d utter. [Racked]

Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery, or did one of Harry Potter‘s costume designers get a little too close to a Fall ’08 Alexander McQueen gown? [Lela London via Refinery29]

And Lara Stone—fresh from causing controversy as the face (and mostly undressed body) of Calvin Klein—admits that she prefers naughty photo shoots. Why, you could knock us over with a feather! [Vogue U.K.]

Yea, Nay, Or Eh? Megan, Meet Azzedine

Maybe it’s the recent nuptials, maybe it’s all that time spent hanging out chez Armani (she’s the poster girl for Armani Jeans and Armani Underwear and wore Privé to her wedding), but Megan Fox is looking downright classy lately. Exhibit A: Last night’s VH1 Do Something Awards. Fox hit the stage in Azzedine Alaïa (a sentence, frankly, we never thought we’d have cause to utter). She complemented the gorgeous frock with matching Brian Atwood pumps, a glowing Cali-girl tan, and loose, wavy hair—a look that, overall, might’ve seemed too matchy-matchy on someone else, but on Megan totally worked. Is this the start of a new chapter in the Book of Fox? We’re sure to see more cheesecake mag covers in the days to come, but it’s nice to remember that when she wants to, Megan can play the perfect-lady part, well, near perfectly. What do you think? Do you like Fox’s new look, or do you prefer her wild-child stylings?

Fantastic Ms. Fox

Much anticipated and much debated, Megan Fox’s Armani underwear campaign is here. (The starlet replaces Posh—ahem, Victoria Beckham—as the female face of the line; fellow footballer Cristiano Ronaldo will replace hubby Becks, but he and Fox won’t appear together.) And while the world does not exactly lack for pictures of Megan in states of undress, we think the Mert and Marcus-shot pics look pretty good. Transformers 3, on the other hand…

Wang’s Win, Daphne’s Shoes, and More…

Alexander Wang can’t stop winning. The 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner
scooped up this year’s Swiss Textiles Award, beating out five other
finalists including Thakoon and Ohne Titel. We guess sexy American sportswear translates everywhere.

Daphne Guinness gets the shoes. The pint-size muse showed up in Alexander McQueen‘s fang feet at last night’s party for François Nars, and, of course, totally pulled it off. [British Vogue]

International modeling phenom Karlie Kloss made her mom cupcakes for her birthday. And she’s founding a charity to help underprivileged youth. And she’s 17. [WWD]

Lynn Hirschberg deconstructs Megan Fox. Is her sexed-up image all an act? Unclear, but the actress does use those chicken-cutlet boob enhancements. That’s kind of a relief, right? [NYT]

Costco’s made it to Manhattan. The mammoth food-clothing-electronics-and-everything-else emporium opened its doors today on 116th Street. Go there for a wall of Uggs ($124.99), Chanel
handbags ($1,999.99), and Louis Vuitton duffels ($589.99). No one has to
know where it came from. [NY Post]
