Miranda Kerr For Bally Spring ’12

Miranda Kerr and puppies: Who could resist either of those? Not Bally—the label enlisted the Victoria’s Secret Angel, along with Julia Stegner, Cedric Bihr, Robert Konjic, and a pack of adorable pups, to star in its Spring ’12 ad campaign, shot by Norman Jean Roy. The photos, taken at Gstaad Palace Hotel in Switzerland’s Bernese heartland, tout Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler’s leather shoes, handbags, and ready-to-wear pieces, many of them inspired by the label’s rich archives. Here, a new behind-the-scenes video taken during the shoot.

Prabal Gurung Takes The Reins At ICB, Designers At Midlife, Spring (Campaigns) Are In The Air, And More…

The Japanese label ICB, formerly designed by Michael Kors and then Victor & Rolf, stopped distribution in the West in 2002, but it will soon be back on these shores. Owning company Onward Kashiyama has announced that Prabal Gurung will helm the relaunch of the collection in U.S. and Europe, beginning here in Fall 2012. [WWD]

In 2011, designers of major labels, including Haider Ackermann, Christopher Bailey, and Nicolas Ghesquière, hit milestone “big O” birthdays (they all turned 40). In the NYT, Suzy Menkes points out that the battle of generations of designers of all ages, however, is a thing to celebrate. [NYT]

One Designer, Two Starlets—Who Wore It Best?

We haven’t even bought our winter coat yet, but celebrities have been racking up Spring dress credits since the shows wrapped last month. See: Gwyneth Paltrow displaying her finely tuned thigh muscles in a one-sleeved Stella McCartney mini not all that unlike the long version that Nicole Kidman wore a week earlier to the Country Music Awards, or Tilda Swinton and Elisa Sednaoui, both in vibrant silk pants ensembles from Haider Ackermann’s latest lineup, at the Prix de la Moda awards last week in Madrid. Carey Mulligan and Miranda Kerr worked Peter Pilotto‘s peplumed scuba dresses to perfection on The Late Late Show and at the MoMA gala for Pedro Almodóvar, respectively, but we’re guessing that you have a favorite.

Haute Holidays

What do you give the girl (or guy) who has everything? That’s what Style.com’s senior market editor Marina Larroude set out to discover when she polled style setters and tastemakers about what they’d get their equally stylish pals for the holidays. It wasn’t always easy to find that special something—how do you get noted bibliophile Karl Lagerfeld a book he doesn’t have?—but the likes of Miranda Kerr, Jen Brill, Lily and Ruby Aldridge, Scott Schuman and Garance Doré, and more managed nicely. (And in the case of the Kaiser? Brill found a book she’s almost sure isn’t on his shelves: Bunny Yeager’s Camera in Jamaica.) Read on to find out what fashion’s royalty is getting this year.

Apparently, getting your Angel wings and modeling Victoria’s Secret’s most expensive bra doesn’t mean you get free lingerie from the brand. Miranda Kerr was spotted shopping at Victoria’s Secret over the weekend in New York with her baby son Flynn. [Huff Po]

The costume designer for My Week With Marilyn, Jill Taylor, says the goal was to show another side of the blonde bombshell’s style. “She’s known for her showstopping glamorous gowns, but after studying hundreds of books and photographs, we found out that Marilyn actually dressed for comfort.” [Vogue U.K.]
