It’s that time of year again: New York fashion week kicks off this Thursday, and while we’re certain you know all the talking points, we want to make sure you’ve refreshed your bookmarks as well as your wardrobe. In addition to our Instagram coverage, and recent mobile facelift, we’ll be sharing our favorite looks (plus backstage videos) from the Spring 2014 runways on Pinterest. Despite rumors to the contrary, fashion week is a time when you need to eat—not that the New York schedule makes that particularly easy. At least MADE is stepping in to help: The company will be passing out lunch boxes, designed by T-shirt wizards Dana Veraldi and Kevin Tekinel of Deer Dana (they of the Raf and Sade tees), ready for filling with the yogurt pretzels, almonds, and quinoa salad Walgreens is supplying backstage and at Milk Studios.
In the leadup to New York fashion week, designers go through hundreds of behind-the-scenes preparations to arrive at the completed show. This NYFW, we’ve sweet-talked a few of them into giving us an exclusive peek behind the curtain as they cast, score, style, and ready their presentations. Up next: Yigal Azrouël.
“Model casting for the women’s Spring 2013 runway show has officially begun. It’s always exciting to see the girls who were in my show last season and meet some new faces. We were excited to work with casting director Piergiorgio Del Moro this season for the first time.”
