Indio, California:
The Calm Before The Coachella Storm

-------

California’s annual festival of rock ‘n’ roll and sun worship begins tomorrow, with Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, Kanye West, and the Strokes among the many performers on the three-day bill. The style set has decamped for Cali (get ready for a flurry of #Coachella tweets), and among them is One Management’s Scott Lipps, who arrived at the still-peaceful desert town (above) early this morning. Along with our usual street-style coverage, we’ll be posting daily snaps direct from Lipps—who keeps a straight-from-his-Blackberry blog of his own at Pop Lipps—of the girls, rockers, and party people he encounters on his daily festival rounds. Tune in tomorrow for the first shots.
