Exclusive: Mario Testino Shoots Kate Moss For Vogue Brasil


Today’s news mostly centers on one English Kate—the new Duchess Catherine. But we’ve got an update from the country’s other great Kate, Kate Moss, too. For Vogue Brasil‘s 36th anniversary, the supe of all supes shot an enormous portfolio in Rio and São Paulo with Mario Testino. The shots pair her up with some of the country’s most notable personalities, from Pelé and architect Oscar Niemeyer to actor Rodrigo Santoro and swimmer Romulo Arantes. Kate’s nude cover shot has been making the Internet rounds, but above and below, a few exclusive looks from inside the issue—at 508 pages, it’s the glossy’s biggest yet. ZZ For LV, KK For DK, Another Project Comes To An End, And More…


It wasn’t a great night for traditional fashion books, but there were some stylish wins at the National Magazine Awards last night. New York took home four Ellies, The New Yorker and National Geographic three each, and GQ took home the award for General Excellence in the 500,000-to-1 million circulation category. [WWD]

The latest Louis Vuitton “Icons” campaign has leaked, starring footballers Zidane, Pelé, and Maradona enjoying some foosball in their downtime. Annie Leibovitz shot the campaign in Madrid. And, oh yeah, there are some pieces of LV luggage (Zidane’s monogrammed with his ZZ) lurking in the background. [Racked]

Speaking of models, Karlie Kloss and Anna Jagodzinska are the faces of Donna Karan for Fall 2010. Patrick Demarchelier shot them in New York for the label’s 25th anniversary campaign. [Fashionologie]

And another designer made it work. Seth Aaron Henderson was named the winner of the seventh season of Project Runway last night. [NYDN]

Footballers For Fashion, Boy Gets A Little Sister, And More…


The latest additions to Louis Vuitton’s “core values” ads—the campaign that made models of Gorbachev, Buzz Aldrin, and Keith Richards—are rumored to be footballers Diego Maradona, Pelé, and Zinédine Zidane. LV won’t comment, but if you start to hear tell of headbutts on set, you’ll know why. [WWD]

The key to Band of Outsiders’ success? L.A., says designer Scott Sternberg, which keeps him apart from the New York fashion machine. And soon to come out of that L.A. laboratory: girl., the lower-priced companion line to his womenswear collection, Boy. [WSJ]
