Shoes Required, Clothing Optional

Canadian footwear designer Jerome C. Rousseau is a favorite of our senior fashion editor Marina Larroude. As if there isn’t already enough sex appeal in his Spring ’12 collection of bold-colored booties and black suede peep-toe pumps, the designer had Mary Rozzi photograph his muse, actress Roxane Mesquida, in Joshua Tree National Park wearing almost nothing but the shoes for his Spring campaign. The shoes hit stores later this week, but has exclusive campaign images now.

Borgo Magic

In keeping with the tradition of using his famous stylish fans as his models (Vanessa Traina, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Kate Lanphear, to name a few), Eddie Borgo brought on V‘s Cecilia Dean to star in his latest ad campaign. “Cecilia was a natural progression for us; she exemplifies all those mysterious, sexy elements of a woman with effortless style,” Borgo tells “I was so nervous, at first, to ask for her participation, but so thrilled when she accepted at a friend’s dinner party in Paris.” The collection was inspired by magic and the occult, referencing the work of British occultist Austin Osman Spare and Robert Mapplethorpe’s projects outside of photography. “The connection between the two artists was their ability to create imagery that was simultaneously strong as it was elegant and refined,” explains Borgo. His translation of the two artists’ work came in the form of geometric shapes, like stars and pentagrams, which he then covered in white powder “to evoke the feeling of lace.”

For the shoot, he enlisted his go-to team: stylist Keegan Singh and photographer Paul Maffi. Here, catch Dean in action in this exclusive video along with a shot from the campaign.

Wu Hits The Streets

Come Monday, watch out for Jason Wu all over lower Manhattan. The designer is set to paper downtown guerrilla-style with his Willy Vanderperre-photographed images, starring Julia Frauche wearing his fifties couture-inspired shapes from his Spring ’12 collection. Before you spot them on the street, has the exclusive first look at the poster (above).

Hot-Rodding With Prada

Steven Meisel shot the Spring ’12 Prada ad campaign in the most sensible place for the hot-rodding, fins-and-taillights collection: a gas station. Now here’s your first look at the accompanying video campaign, with Natasha Poly, Elise Crombez, Guinevere Van Seenus, Meghan Collison, Ymre Stiekema, and newcomer Katryn Kruger all strutting their stuff. Baby, you can drive my car.

Natasha Poly And Daria Strokous For Jil Sander Spring ’12

Natasha Poly is on a roll with Spring campaigns. The Russian-born model scored a coveted spot in Steven Meisel’s Prada ad and is the star of this season’s Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott-lensed Dsquared² campaign. She’s also the face of Proenza Schouler‘s just-released Spring ’12 campaign, featuring their forties-inspired collection. Now, add Jil Sander to the growing list. Raf Simons enlisted Poly and Daria Strokous (who also appears in Louis Vuitton’s candy-coated campaign) for the brand’s new Willy Vanderperre-shot images (pictured). Here, the two look like they are in a horror film, but it’s a very stylish one, to say the least.
