Sandro Rolls Out A Rock T-Shirt Line

Sandro, in continuing with its Americana kick (the French brand teamed up with Dree Hemingway in January on a capsule collection of print tees and boho seventies-inspired pieces), has paid tribute to one of the country’s most legendary musical acts: the Doors. “Not only was Jim Morrison able to create the most hypnotic music of all time, but he exhibited a particular style throughout his career,” Sandro Homme artistic director Ilan Chetrite tells of the band’s front man. “No man has ever worn leather pants with such style.” As an homage to the rock star’s iconic look, Chetrite created a range of vintage knitted T-shirts featuring images of Morrison and the band. “I wanted to honor the band that transcended music with melodies halfway between heaven and damnation,” he explains. The red, white, and black shirts ($95 to $110) are available now on the Sandro Web site.
