Tom Ford Marries Richard Buckley

2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Graydon Carter - Dinner

The Telegraph reports that in an interview with Lady Kinvara Balfour last night, Tom Ford confirmed he has married longtime partner Richard Buckley. “We are married now, which is nice,” Ford said, flashing his wedding ring to a crowd gathered at the Regent Street Apple store in London. Details of the nuptials were scarce, but he did say the two were married in the States. Ford and Buckley have been together for twenty-seven years and live in London, where Ford designs his eponymous label. They welcomed their first child together in 2012, a boy named Alexander “Jack” John Buckley Ford.

Beyoncé Rocked That Tom Ford Dress

It was only a matter of time before a celeb nabbed this buzzed-about sequined number. Showing support for both Jay Z and Tom Ford, Beyoncé debuted that Molly dress from the designer’s Fall ’14 collection during a performance last night in Amsterdam, of all places. Who better than Queen Bey to do so? In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if it had been designed with her in mind.

Karen Elson Adds to Her Hot Streak With a New Louis Vuitton Campaign

Karen Elson for Louis Vuitton

It’s virtually impossible to flip through a glossy these days without coming across at least one picture of Karen Elson, whose career has been in overdrive lately with recent ads for Jason Wu, Sonia Rykiel, Paule Ka, Kurt Geiger, and a new campaign for Louis Vuitton, which was announced today. In the brand’s new “Spirit of Travel” series, Peter Lindbergh went on safari in South Africa with Elson and fellow English rose Edie Campbell, and captured them feeding giraffes and riding zebras, respectively. (Campbell is known for her equestrian skills.) Keeping up her red-hot momentum, Elson has made plenty of appearances during the Fall ’14 shows, too—both in the front row and on the runway. So far, she’s turned up on catwalks including Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, and Diane von Furstenberg, and rubbed elbows with the celebs and editors at Alexander Wang and Rodarte. We wouldn’t be surprised to see more of her during the Paris shows.

Runway to Red Carpet: The Celebrity Set Keeps It Up Across the Pond

Angelina and BradIn case you haven’t been counting down with the rest of us, the Oscars are next weekend. And while the highly anticipated red carpet is known as the awards season’s most glamorous, the celebrity set wasn’t holding back during this week’s events across the pond. Sunday’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards saw our current red-carpet favorites hit it out of the sartorial ballpark yet again. Lupita Nyong’o was statuesque in an emerald green silk Dior Couture gown accented with a metallic gold-lacquered belt and cuffs, and Cate Blanchett, who took home the BAFTA trophy for best actress, walked the red carpet in a black column with a silver tulip jacquard from Alexander McQueen’s Pre-Fall ’14 lineup. We should also mention that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie turned up in matching suits: Jolie opted for a casually undone tux from Saint Laurent; Pitt, meanwhile, wore Valentino.

Later in the week, on Wednesday, the music set stole the spotlight at the Brit Awards in London. International Female Solo Artist winner Lorde stuck to her favorite color palate, accepting her trophy in a black Tom Ford Spring ’14 gown covered in fractured mirrors. Ever-dapper music mogul Pharrell Williams chose a charcoal gray lamé effect suit by his red-carpet go-to, Lanvin. While he left his now-famous Vivienne Westwood topper (which is currently getting auctioned off on eBay for charity, the latest bid being $10,500) home for this outing, we’re hoping he has more red-carpet surprises up his sleeve.

Here, more of this week’s red-carpet highlights.

Tom Ford Thanks One Lucky Star

Tom Ford's note

As we’re sure you’ve heard, Hayden Panettiere bought, rather than borrowed, the $10,000 Tom Ford dress that she donned to the Globes on Sunday, and the Internet couldn’t stop talking about it. Heavens forbid anyone should actually purchase the clothes they wear! Anywho, it seems Ford has a one-star-per-soiree rule when it comes to dressing celebs, and he picked Naomi Watts as his golden girl, leaving Panettiere to fend for herself. Well, the designer is a stand-up gent, and, according to Panettiere’s Twitter, he sent the actress a bouquet of roses and a nice little note. The flowers are a sweet parting gift, we suppose, but not quite as sweet as the fact that Panettiere now has her very own Tom Ford gown.
