I drag a scarf around almost everywhere: bundled in a handbag or somehow attached to me. I marvel at the myriad of uses the simple scarf has: around the neck or over the head; as a dress, a shawl, a halter-neck top, a skirt; as well as a light blanket for travel, an ally against the air-conditioning that always manages to hunt me down in a room, a makeshift bag, or a pillow. I could go on.
A longtime favorite brand is Faliero Sarti. My current “foulard friend” is by Lisa King. It is her signature Screw-print scarf, which I last employed as a turban during a vacation in Portofino, Italy.
