I first stepped into the maze of interconnecting lanes and alleyways of the Pydhonie Bazaar as a student and was immediately mesmerized.

Even Mumbai taxi drivers get nervous when you tell them to head to this cluttered and overcrowded market, where shoppers push and shuffle their way through narrow gaps.

Surprisingly, behind all the clutter and bustle, it is here that all sorts of jewels are sold. The shopkeepers are immensely proud to supply most of the embroidery material that is used by couture houses and high street brands across the world.

All in all, a perfect place to start the research for our fall/winter collection.
