Yesterday morning it was six Ukrainian designers’ turns to show their collections during London fashion week on a Fashion Scout platform (Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days’ showcase), and as I am an avid supporter of my country and the creative director of its main fashion event, the aforementioned Kiev Fashion Days, I was there to help and inspire them. The great thing about London is that it is so welcoming to young designers, no matter what country they hail from. That is probably why we received such attention from the industry experts, and even Sara Maino from Vogue Italia, known for discovering new talent around the world, has posted a couple of looks from the show on the magazine’s Instagram account, where they received tons of likes.

After seeing a bunch of shows yesterday, I spent my evening in the greatest company possible: with the irreverent Carine Roitfeld. I was invited to a screening of the new documentary about the extraordinary stylist and editor, Mademoiselle C, organized at the Mayfair Hotel by Karla Otto.
The movie will be presented in Paris during fashion week, and was already shown in New York. It is not only a must-see because it shows the whole creative process of Carine’s magazine, CR Fashion Book, but also because it inspires a lot. Carine is definitely the ultimate fashion icon, and the most important thoughts she shares in the film are so effecting that you can’t not fall in love with everything she says and does. Her secret to success? I bet it’s her family. Apart from being a great stylist, she is the perfect mother and, recently, grandmother. And that’s what you can’t learn—it’s only a question of talent.
