It’s not like Aesop wasn’t available in Berlin before—they have it at Murkudis and MDC Cosmetic, both beautiful in their own right. But since last week, Berlin has had its own Aesop flagship featuring all its products in a beautiful interior. The store is located at Alte Schönhauser Straße and was designed by Berlin-based studio Weiss-heiten. The inside is completely made of hand-painted, sea-green concrete tiles with the products lined on almost invisible steel shelves. The former milk store’s past is remembered with two big sinks from the 1950s. A pretty add-on is the hand-cream dispenser outside of the store (below) and the tea bar inside, luring in passers-by to get themselves prettified.
