Chicago can get a bad rap for its chilly winters. But what comes to mind first for me is the amazing list of restaurants that I’m dying to try in this foodie haven. One is the cozy ramen joint, the Slurping Turtle, from James Beard-award winning chef Takashi Yagihashi—just one of Chicago’s renowned culinary elite. Whether it’s the much lauded roasted cauliflower at Stephanie Izard’s Girl & the Goat or a classic slice of Chicago deep-dish pizza, I know I’m going to be very well fed. With Peek’s launch in Chicago, I’m reminded again that there’s so much to taste. I know I’ll want to head straight to Argyle Street for a walking tour of the city’s best Southeast Asian flavors. Then I’ll want the Aztec hot chocolate from one of the Miracle Mile’s decadent cafes. The cold isn’t keeping me out of this city!
