Back in the seventies, when the mighty Antonio Lopez was dancing Apache tangos with his muse Pat Cleveland, another illustrator was born in the dark Swedish forest in the wooden wreck—the house of Nyköping. Many years later, when the forest had become old and Liselotte Watkins (who we’ll call “LW” here) was living elsewhere, her status as one of today’s greater fashion illustrators is undisputed. While I was trying to navigate Milan and Paris fashion weeks, trying to keep up with the speed of everything today, I happened to be struck by the light: Queen Anna Dello Russo wearing one of LW’s fantastic creations for Miu Miu S/S 2008 (below).
