During Paris fashion week, I went to the vernissage of Alaïa’s retrospective exhibition at the Galliera Museum.

Even though I grew up with Alaïa’s amazing creations and I was familiar with most of them, I was absolutely amazed to see his masterpieces all reunited and beautifully shown in this theatrical way. He reminds us that nothing is more precious than the excellence of the cut to enhance a woman’s curves, as evidenced by this Spring/Summer 1990 “bandage” dress (inspired by Egyptian mummies), which is an icon!

And as I was admiring a dress worn by Naomi Campbell in 1989…

…I turned around to see Naomi herself with Farida Khelfa, two of Alaïa’s famous muses…

…followed by The Master himself!
