Valentino’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are as obsessed as I am with movies and movie soundtracks, which are often featured in their show soundtracks.

In Shanghai to show their redder than red collection, the designers’ soundtrack was taken from the movie Profondo Rosso, by famed director Dario Argento. In our logic, Profondo Rosso was the aural equivalent of all the shades of red worn by the little army of Valentino girls parading on a red wooden floor (below). Their lieutenants were Flower and He Gong, the new faces in town.
