Natalia Altewai and Randa Saome (AltewaiSaome), wunderkinds recently tapped to be the new designers of WeSC womenswear.
Congrats on your new jobs. What are your ambitions with your role as WeSC designers?
We want to build the women’s line to be as equally successful as the men’s line.
How will you influence the brand’s design, and how will it change?
There will be a pretty big difference designwise, but the collections will still maintain WeSC’s street sense; that will definitely remain. The collections will have a much more conscious and mature look, and [be] aimed at a larger customer base.
How would you describe the first collection?
It’s feminine with a higher fashion approach than previous collections, yet it’s still very street.
Where do you find inspiration?
For WeSC, we have found inspiration in the the brand’s history. We feel there are some good things there that we can build from to make strong collections.
Do you have any favorite pieces in the capsule collection?
We love the neoprene bomber with the stitching. This piece is truly special, and both men and women love it!
