Without planning, every year I seem to be in Japan for Sakura Hanami (or, the cherry-blossom viewing season). Whether for work or play, I find that I arrived just in time. But what is more fascinating to me is how excited many women become about it. Some even literally jump up and down. It’s almost as if Shiseido were raining down pure beauty extract on the delicate petals. If you squint very closely, it almost reminds you of little children running through bubble machines in the heat of summer, the excitement of dodging ever so slightly or crashing into something so frail and fleeting.
