One of my all-time favorite models is the Dane Freja Beha Erichsen, who was discovered by Unique Models in Copenhagen, in 2005. With stunning features such as her endless cheekbones and legs, she is an iconic Nordic beauty who seems to never go out of style. She has been on the cover of most magazines, the face of the best fashion brands in the world, and is one of the most sought-after international models. For a couple of years, she has been very selective about her jobs, skipping fashion weeks and focusing largely on commercial and editorial shoots, until last season, when she opened the Louis Vuitton show in Paris.
For the upcoming Fall season, she has chosen to work with two brands, both of which are shifting their creative direction. She is one of the faces of the new and divine Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 campaign, the first under Nicolas Ghesquière, which was shot by Juergen Teller in the Scandinavian pavilion at Venice’s Giardini della Biennale. And I am thrilled that she has also come home to Denmark, to be the face of By Malene Birger’s Fall 2014 campaign—the debut for its new creative director, Christina Exsteen—which was shot by Danish photographer Noam Griegst in the model’s native Copenhagen and features the brand’s newest jewelry range.
Welcome back, Freja!
