Proving her versatility, this year Emmy-nominated native Australian Rose Byrne has appeared in films as disparate as The Internship, a comedy starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, The Place Beyond the Pines, an independent ensemble drama from acclaimed writer/director Derek Cianfrance, and the forthcoming supernatural thriller Insidious: Chapter 2. Byrne has recently wrapped production on Townies, alongside Seth Rogen, and This Is Where I Leave You, opposite Tina Fey and Jason Bateman. Byrne's fame in Australia began with her role in the gritty crime comedy Two Hands, in which she starred with Heath Ledger. She went on to star in Clara Law's The Goddess of 1967, for which she was awarded Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival. In 2012, Byrne wrapped production on the fifth and final season of the critically acclaimed show Damages, in which she starred opposite Glenn Close. Byrne also previously appeared in X-Men: First Class, Get Him to the Greek, Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette, and the blockbuster comedy Bridesmaids, produced by Judd Apatow. The film won multiple awards, including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Byrne resides in New York. Photo: Billy Farrell/BFAnyc.com
