Stylist-turned-designer Ulrika Lundgren founded her fashion label Rika in 2005, after working as a fashion and interiors stylist for magazines such as Casa Vogue and Elle Decoration. During her years spent globe-trotting, she developed a strong personal taste, always on the hunt for special, truly unique pieces. Combining her knowledge of publishing and love of collaboration, she launched Rika magazine. The independent, biannual publication acts as a manifesto of Lundgren's philosophy: Each issue features women in the arts, whose personality and vision are inspiring to readers worldwide; it looks at women as muses, creators, fighters, and lovers. Additionally, she owns Maison Rika, a boutique hotel she designed and conceptualized, located in the 9 Streets neighborhood of Amsterdam. The Swedish-born Lundgren credits her path in life to her grandmother, who loved to create and taught her that the key to beauty is in the details. Photo: Paul Ballaart/REACTNOW
