Just arrived in Tokyo, one of my favorite cities in the world. It’s been about three to four years since I have been here. Wild fact is, I have lived here for a stint before, specifically at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi.
So it sort of transcends any other hotel, and this feels like going through a time portal to an old college apartment or something. As with most things in Japan, everything is perfect. It’s corporate but comfortable. The food is next-next. The service is incredible. It’s the type of hotel that if you left a hoodie in the closet a year ago, when you return it will have been dry-cleaned, waiting for you in your new room before you even check in. I have been in the lobby and a random hotel employee addresses me by name. Wild like that.
Safe to say if you’re going to Tokyo, you know where my recommendation is to stay.
