Question: What’s the Auckland version of House of Holland? Answer: Stolen Girlfriends Club, a.k.a. Marc Moore, Dan Gosling, and Luke Harwood, local boys who’ve gained notoriety for both their signature extra-long slogan tees, a favorite of local hipsters, and their legendary parties (Moore promotes the monthly People of Paris night). Juliette Lewis recently rocked one of their shirts for her Wellington gig, and the label works closely with indie stars the Checks, whose lyrics turn up in the current collection. For their first runway show in Auckland this week, SGC showed plenty of PVC minis and studded denim, but what we really liked were the tees with the images of bloodshot eyes, which were inspired by Donnie Darko.
