in the pink

Sandwiched between shows in a very busy and packed first official day of Milan fashion week, the Blumarine shop opening—a revamp, actually—offered a rose-scented moment of rest to the fatigued fashion crowd. Flowers are big in Milan right now, with floral prints blooming almost everywhere. Guest were greeted at 42 Via della Spiga by a wall of pink roses that served as both finery and fence, hiding what was going on from curious passersby. Once inside, guests were greeted with more pink in the form of macaroons, desserts, and drinks, not to mention the magenta-and-white boutique space. Amid all the rosiness, we spotted eighties supermodel Marpessa, wearing a leopard-print shirt and lean jeans.
