Creative Time toasted art-loving philanthropist Beth Rudin DeWoody last night with a flight-themed birthday fête and fundraiser (one auction item: a nude photo session with Terry Richardson) titled the "Jet Set Gala." The invite called for "travel chic," but not all guests got the message. "I forgot," said Marilyn Minter. "So my theme is 'the Barneys store across the street from where I live.'" Cindy Sherman wasn't following dress code, either, instead opting for a numerical dress, gloves, and chunky necklace by her friend Todd Thomas. "He actually did the costumes on my movie ten years ago," she explained. When pressed for her picks from the city's spring art shows, she pointed to her neon-clad friend David Byrne: "I'm excited about his [show] with Creative Time!" Byrne's exhibit will open May 31st at a warehouse by the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Art powerhouse Yvonne Force Villareal—following dress code with her travel essentials: headband, one-piece leotard, trench, and, er, Dolce & Gabbana lace sheath—gave us a list of her must-sees. "Nate Lowman and Dan Colen at Michele Maccarone, Rachel Feinstein at Marianne Boesky, and Hope Atherton at Bortolami."
