poehler’s summer pull

April 21, 2008  12:04 pm

Amy

Proving that she’s not going to let a little thing like comedic notoriety or her star status on “Saturday Night Live” and in a string of cinematic comedies (like last year’s “Blades of Glory” and “Baby Mama,” which opens this week) keep her from, as she put it, “staying real,” Amy Poehler was seen digging in the sale racks at the Urban Outfitters on Sixth Avenue and Waverly Place this weekend. “Stocking up for summer,” she replied to an inquisitive sales person as she piled her arms with merchandise, adding with a comic evil laugh, “I’m getting out of this dump.” Turns out she might need the summer vacation more than her fellow cast members—NBC recently said that come fall 2008, there will be a half-hour, prime-time Thursday night “SNL” spin-off. According to recent reports (and rumors), much of the content will be delivered in Poehler’s “Weekend Update” format. Seems like a raise might be in effect, too. According to the sales person, the only thing that belied Poehler’s local hipster look was her bill: She allegedly dropped nearly a grand on her new threads.
