strange bedfellows
If you're a beautiful, revered Italian actress with Ingrid Bergman for a mother, your directorial debut, at 55, might as well be about really raunchy houseflies. At least, that was Isabella Rossellini's tack; no word on daughter Elettra's favorite clip. Flies on film, sure, but lizards on your lawn? Apparently almost five million homes have at least one reptile as a pet. This would, we imagine, preclude you from having one as a handbag. The latest must-have eco accessory? Kitchen gardens. Sorry, New Yorkers. And in case you're wondering, eating in is still cheaper than eating out. Sorry, again. Presidential campaign staffers are probably pining for a home-cooked meal, but they're not pining for bedfellows. Must be all those rousing debates.
