Mirandrakerr

The Victoria’s Secret store at Herald Square was doing business as usual this morning, but the arrival of Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr caused a slight commotion. “Is she famous?” a teenage boy asked, straining to see Kerr through the flashbulb flurry she’d set off. Upon receiving confirmation, the youth pulled out his camera and dutifully snapped a few frames of his own. Kerr, whose choice of outerwear—a patchwork Matthew Williamson number—was much more interesting to us than any underwear, is in town promoting Victoria Secret’s latest new-fangled bra (memory lining, anyone?). The bra seemed like a good excuse, apparently, to create a retrospective exhibit celebrating a decade of Victoria’s Secret Angels. Right. Highlights include Heidi Klum’s 12-foot wings—”the largest ever!”—circa 2003, and the Angels’ Hollywood Boulevard star (NB: replica). Kerr fielded lingerie queries like a pro—”It really contours to your shape,” she assured folks of the new bra, but her best advice was for those who choose to go without. “Put some panties on!” she declared, sounding indignant. “I mean, is it really that hard? I don’t really think there’s any excuse for not wearing underwear.” We hear ya, Miranda. We hear ya.
