Tinseltown's old guard—former first lady Nancy Reagan, Betsy Bloomingdale, and Barbara Davis, among them—gathered to honor the actress, whose philanthropic contributions have become as well documented as her fashion choices. Following a presentation of the Fall 2008 Oscar de la Renta collection, Harmon, clad in a black and cognac print dress by the designer, thanked the audience, which included up-and-comer Kate Mara. "We're just doing what we feel is normal and required," Harmon offered in response to the recognition. "We do it because we're supposed to."
