get your shandoots now, trendsters

Fifteen years since his bust-encased Classique fragrance created a universal waft from fanatical overspritzing, eau de Jean Paul Gaultier was once again in the air last night at a bash to celebrate his latest olfactory achievement, Ma Dame. A troop of international press, Paris scenesters, and London club kids took over the three floors of Villa Eugenie on the Boulevard Beaumarchais, which had been divided into themed rooms. We caught up with a Gaultier-clad Agyness Deyn, the face of the new scent, in the karaoke room. “I’m going to do ‘Take Me to the River,’ by the Talking Heads,” the budding songstress announced. But first to the disco room, where Deyn took over the DJ booth, flanked by two MisShapes and one Henry Holland, who was extolling the virtues of “shandoots” over the bass-pumping beats of Salt N Pepa’s “Push It”—that’s a shoe-sandal-boot amalgamation (consider yourself in the know).
