After several seasons as the preferred face of major houses like Christian Dior and Missoni, the Brazilian bombshell is on a self-imposed sabbatical (well, except for her Victoria's Secret campaign).

Don't worry! Angela Lindvall took over at Christian Dior, and Kate Moss is in at Missoni. Dolce & Gabbana did its part for model unemployment by creating a three-part campaign with Rie Rasmussen, Eugenia Volodina, and Liya Kebede.

Some big names made a comeback: in addition to Moss. There's Laetitia Casta at Alberta Ferretti, Carla Bruni in Alessandro dell'Acqua, and Linda Evangelista in the Karl Lagerfeld–directed Fendi spreads.

Actresses were all the rage not long ago; now music stars are gaining. Witness J.Lo at Louis Vuitton, Christina Aguilera at Versace, and Missy Elliot and Madonna getting cozy for the Gap. New trend? More like coincidence, says Trey Laird, president of Laird & Partners, who directed the Gap campaign. "Things like that just kind of happen," he says. "We looked for the most interesting, impactful icons of the moment, and for us, it was the mix of Madonna and Missy."
