philip crangi sources vintage african beads for a new collection of necklaces
Monday, August 2, 2010
Philip Crangi may be best known for his metal bijoux, but a new capsule collection of glass bead necklaces stands ready to change that. The Giles & Brother designer has sourced vintage African beads in summery sherbet colors and threaded them in waferlike stacks on simple silver chains. The results are proof positive that less is more—unless, of course, you want to layer on a few. If that's the case, run, don't walk, to the Crangi Family Project store in New York's Meatpacking District. Vintage African beads aren't in unlimited supply, and when they're gone, they're gone.
