new indian label princesse k launches a top tote
Monday, August 3, 2009
Mumbai has given the fashion world crossover stars like Manish Arora and Sabyasachi. Now it's enterprising young designer Karishma Shahani's turn. Her newly launched handbag line Princesse K fuses her Western influences—she studied in Monaco—with traditional Indian techniques and materials. Case in point: This sturdy, classic tote is crafted from satin and lace. At $100, it could be the biggest low-budget sleeper hit to come out of Mumbai since a certain movie about a game show contestant.
