We’ve already endorsed scuba chic in our What to Save For feature, and this body-con Lisa Marie Fernandez dress is exactly what we had in mind. The swimwear designer’s sexy sheath is made from her signature neoprene and features a built-in bustier for added structure. Wear it now with a strong-shouldered blazer and in the spring with sturdy wedges à la Proenza Schouler. You’ll be sure to make a splash. Click the image to shop.

Leopard prints and sequins are two of the biggest Fall ‘09 trends, making this festive paillette T-shirt from British designer Ashish a worthy addition to your holiday wardrobe. We love the updated color palette, and think that its casual silhouette would work equally well with a flirty miniskirt or broken-in jeans. An added bonus: The girl in the sequined animal print is sure to be the life of the party.

Tory Burch could have coasted on ballet flats and embroidered tunics, but the designer is intent on becoming a serious name in American sportswear. Case in point: these lace-up leather boots. The streamlined stompers—a far cry from colorful resortwear—nod at the current military trend but are classic enough to look good next year, too. You could pair them with your new bandleader jacket, but we’ll be wearing ours with another hot Fall ‘09 item: leather leggings.

In my opinion, fur—whether artificial or the real deal—is essential for combating brutal New York winters. The problem? Full-length mink coats and chinchilla wraps are not exactly cutting-edge. This Shepherd fox fur collar with its tangle of chains, available at Kirna Zabête, manages to be both cozy and cool. I’d layer it over my leather moto jacket or even pair it with a simple velvet party dress. Now, if only someone could find a way to make fuzzy earmuffs look chic. Click the image to shop.

One look at the matte brown lips on the models who walked Givenchy’s Spring show and it’s clear that the beauty world isn’t immune to fashion’s current obsession with the nineties. I won’t be sporting a mocha pout anytime soon (or bleached eyebrows, for that matter), but the idea of a sepia-hued manicure feels very fresh. I’ll be toting NARS Chinatown nail polish (in my vintage Dooney & Bourke bucket bag, natch) to my next nail appointment.

I don’t know any woman who wouldn’t be thrilled to unwrap something sparkly from Judith Leiber this holiday season. While the designer’s jeweled minaudières still carry a hefty price tag, this itty-bitty crystal coin purse—at $195—might just be the ultimate stocking stuffer. Yoox is one of my favorite resources for nabbing iconic pieces from past collections. Case in point: this wool blazer with ruched detailing from the Fall 2008 Comme des Garçons collection. Rei Kawakubo sent jackets down the runway connected by strips of elasticized, satin-frilled garter belts. While most are too avant-garde for everyday wear, this cutout version is just witty enough—for Style.com’s offices, that is. Yet another reason I’m glad I didn’t opt for law school.

Miu Miu was one of my favorite Spring ‘10 collections, and I particularly loved Miuccia Prada’s series of white-on-navy animal silhouette prints. This adorable crane-patterned tea dress from the new Kate Moss x Topshop collection—which hit its online store yesterday—has the same girly-retro vibe. I’d pair it with sheer black tights and thick-heeled platform Mary Janes. The best part about Ms. Moss’ frock? Unlike the runway pieces, I don’t have to wait until next year to get my fix.
