Tory Burch could have coasted on ballet flats and embroidered tunics, but the designer is intent on becoming a serious name in American sportswear. Case in point: these lace-up leather boots. The streamlined stompers—a far cry from colorful resortwear—nod at the current military trend but are classic enough to look good next year, too. You could pair them with your new bandleader jacket, but we’ll be wearing ours with another hot Fall ’09 item: leather leggings.
