When the weather turns balmy (as it has in New York City today), our long locks turn into a tight topknot. This summer, we’ve taken to accessorizing the look with statement headbands. Think Bonnaroo, not Blair Waldorf. Deepa Gurnani’s colorful number has a vaguely seventies vibe that pairs nicely with the high-waisted shorts featured in our latest In the Mood For feature. If the weather cooperates, we’ll be lounging beachside come Memorial Day, which means it’s time for a shore-worthy pedicure. We tend to favor pinks and corals for our toes, but we’re loving this hot orange-y red from Deborah Lippmann’s collection this year. The sexy shade, dubbed Supermodel and created with model Dree Hemingway in mind, goes on sheer, so you can build it up or tone it down to match your swimsuit. Click the image to shop.

Boho may’ve been one of the top trends of the Aughties (thanks in no small part to Sienna Miller and the sisters Olsen), but we recommend taking a page from Erin Wasson’s playbook and going more L.E.S. than Hollywood for a nouveau take on the look. Stacks of jewelry and an artfully dissembled outfit are complemented best by a few well-placed feathers, and we have a hunch Ms. Wasson would approve of these peacock plumes courtesy of Jennifer Ouellette. We imagine tucking the barrette behind our ear so that the feathers dangle low in our tresses, or even wearing them as a makeshift bracelet or necklace. Click the image to shop.

We’re suckers for special-edition makeup (NARS, MAC, you name it), and Chantecaille’s elegant Les Dauphins face palette is no exception. The three eye shades are in easy-to-wear pinks and grays, and the rosy cheek color is a surefire way to brighten any complexion. More importantly, though, Chantecaille is donating five percent of the sales of this palette to Tethys.org, an organization that’s helping to save the last of the Mediterranean dolphins. Even if you can’t trek out to Sardinia to see the creatures in their natural habitat, you’ll look beautiful ensuring that they have one for many years to come. Click the image to shop.

Strong eye shadow is quickly becoming a major Fall 2010 beauty trend, but if heavily pigmented lids seem too club-kid for you, try a blue mascara for a lower-commitment look. Benefit’s BADgal blue mascara subtly brightens eyes (a universal beauty trick: blue next to white equals bright) and enhances your iris’ color, making blue eyes appear bluer and brown eyes more golden. A few swipes and, looking at your sparkling eyes, everyone will think you got a good night’s sleep, even if you’ve been out till dawn. Been a BAD gal? That’s your little secret. Mariage Frères has been supplying teas to discerning Parisians since the middle of the nineteenth century, but the company has lately been making a line of lovely floral candles, too. Inspired by the lush fields of Provence, the fragrance includes notes of rosemary, thyme, marjoram, and lavande. It’ll transport you directly to the South of France—for less than international airfare. Click the image to shop.

Greta Garbo knew. Audrey Hepburn knew. And now you know: The secret to great skin is Dr. Erno Laszlo. The famed Hungarian dermatologist’s products work wonders on and off the red carpet. Our favorite, the Laszlo Blue Firmarine cream, contains Spirulina maxima, a single-cell freshwater algae that helps deliver essential nutrients to the skin, stimulating new collagen growth and epidermal immunity. Translation: It’ll keep you looking good. You’ll look silver-screen perfect in no time. Click the image to shop.
