You’re So Chyc

-------

Our own Marina Larroude brought the Chyc bag to our attention way back in February, and finally the covetable little number has arrived in stores. Now that Phoebe Philo has ushered in an era of minimalist accessories, YSL’s glossy black satchel with its subtle gold hardware has “It” written all over it. Click the image to shop.

Acid Trip

-------

One of the strongest color stories from Resort has been super-hot yellows, but you don’t have to sport an eye-searing cocktail dress à la Roksanda Illincic to get in on the trend. If you prefer neutrals to brights, we recommend taking a page from Phoebe Philo’s playbook by adding a pop of fluoro to your minimalist attire via a sleek statement bag. Philo’s drool-worthy new neon Classic bag won’t be out for a while, but this gem-shaped box clutch from Hervé Léger isn’t a half-bad substitute. And as Tommy Ton’s pics from Milan can attest, tiny clutches are making a big splash this summer. Click the image to shop.

Prince of Prints

-------

Prints are a big story at the Resort collections, whether it’s Phoebe Philo’s demure dots at Celine or Peter Dundas’ oversize butterflies at Emilio Pucci. New York’s Thakoon Panichgul is no stranger to printed matter. We love the blurry, pixelated blue-and-purple pattern of this elegantly draped number from his Thakoon Addition line, and we think the forgiving silhouette would be a winning option for day or night. Going Green

-------

It bags of the aughties may have been covered in logos and hardware, but these days the influential street-style set is favoring nondescript versions from Celine and Chloé (just take a look at the minimalist arm candy Tommy Ton caught at the shows). Jérôme Dreyfuss is one such master of the quietly chic; we love his bright-green lamb leather Billy bag. It’s the perfect size for toting all your work essentials, and the unexpected color makes it a non-statement piece that still packs plenty of punch. Dreyfuss’ logo is embossed in small lettering on the front, so you can discreetly show your friends when they undoubtedly ask who you’re carrying. Click the image to shop.

Bye-Bye, Bling

-------

If you’re a jewelry addict (and we most certainly are), you might be wondering what to do with yourself now that minimalism has the fashion world in its clutches. Bib necklaces dripping in gems? Nope. Golf-ball-size cocktail rings? Sayonara. But you don’t have to forgo baubles completely. We think this petite ring from Page Sargisson would look particularly fetching with a crisp white-and-khaki ensemble from Celine or Chloé. The matte gold is plenty understated, and the tiny ruby provides just a touch of color. Simply stunning. Click the image to shop.
