Better Off Red

-------

Pretty, pale makeup shades may be the colors du jour, but after seeing the deep crimsons and scarlets on the Couture runways, we’ve got red on the brain. This bateau-neck frock from Diane von Furstenberg is an easy, work-ready staple (would you expect anything less from dress queen DVF?), but the bright cherry red gives an otherwise conservative garment a bit of va-va-voom. Prince of Prints

-------

Prints are a big story at the Resort collections, whether it’s Phoebe Philo’s demure dots at Celine or Peter Dundas’ oversize butterflies at Emilio Pucci. New York’s Thakoon Panichgul is no stranger to printed matter. We love the blurry, pixelated blue-and-purple pattern of this elegantly draped number from his Thakoon Addition line, and we think the forgiving silhouette would be a winning option for day or night. Sheer Genius

-------

We can’t wait to see how Style.com fave Haider Ackermann adapts his expert draping skills to menswear at his upcoming show at Pitti W, but in the meantime, we’ll brave the office chill in one of the designer’s luxurious twisted cardigans. This versatile piece can be worn a number of ways (love the built-in scarf) and is sheer enough that you won’t burn up when stepping out for lunch. Now if only we had one of Ackermann’s covetable utility vests from Spring to pair with it. Click the image to shop.

Wrap Star

-------

Although the fashion world seems to be moving in a more loose and easy direction, one look at the Fall Hervé Léger and Carlos Miele runways and it’s clear: Body-con isn’t about to disappear overnight. Since bandage dresses seem to have staying power, it makes sense to invest in a lighter-hued version for spring. This beautifully draped cream tube from Topshop is a great way to add some curve-hugging minimalism to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. Click the image to shop.
