Horsing Around

High and Mighty

-------

High-rise shorts are big for the summer (as seen here), and rib-brushing waistlines don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon—see the Resort collections of Stefano Pilato at YSL, Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, and Peter Dundas at Emilio Pucci for proof. Pair these dark denim kick-flares from MiH with sturdy wedges, and you’ll be the height of fashion from now until next year. Click the image to shop.

Prince of Prints

-------

Prints are a big story at the Resort collections, whether it’s Phoebe Philo’s demure dots at Celine or Peter Dundas’ oversize butterflies at Emilio Pucci. New York’s Thakoon Panichgul is no stranger to printed matter. We love the blurry, pixelated blue-and-purple pattern of this elegantly draped number from his Thakoon Addition line, and we think the forgiving silhouette would be a winning option for day or night. Let The Bright One In

-------

We consider ourselves true New Yorkers in that we tend to favor neutrals (OK, mostly black) over any other shade, but the bright splashes of color in the recent Resort collections are really inspiring us. We aren’t ready for a hot lilac and fuchsia ensemble à la YSL just yet, but an eye-popping Pucci print isn’t a bad place to start. The yellow, blue, and white pattern on this silk scarf will stand out against our favorite blacks and whites without looking flashy. Click the image to shop.
