Slim Pickings

Denim jackets aren’t exactly news, but leave it to Nicole and Michael Colovos of Helmut Lang to breathe new life into the old standby. The sleek, asymmetric silhouette is a witty body-hugging take on the classic shape, and we love the black stretch panels and zipper accents on the sleeves. Click the image to shop.

Vested Interest

Maybe it’s the economy, but we counted a lot more fur vests than fur coats at the pre-fall collections. Seeing as how winter doesn’t officially end until late March, there’s really no reason not to try out this trend now. We love this shaggy faux number for its simple shape and longer cut, not to mention its recession-friendly price. Click the image to shop.

Seasonings: The Wolf Man

-------

Lately, Halloween has become an excuse to bring sexy back, but frankly, the thought of yet another Hallow’s Eve peopled with felines, naughty nurses, and nubile girl scouts has us running scared. Instead, we’re planning on taking cues from Lon Chaney, Jr.’s 1940′s Wolf Man and going fashionably hirsute. In beat-up boots and jeans with Burberry Prorsum’s black goat-hair coat, we’ll look positively beastly. Grrr.
