The Cat’s Meow
A-line shifts, sherbet palettes, lower heels—what decade is this again? The sixties have been a reference point for designers from Marc Jacobs to Phillip Lim for Resort, but you don’t have to trade in your so-2010 shorts for a mod mini to try the trend. These classic cat’s-eye sunglasses from Dior are an easy way to bring a bit of midcentury chic to your wardrobe without looking overtly retro. Click the image to shop.

Let The Bright One In
We consider ourselves true New Yorkers in that we tend to favor neutrals (OK, mostly black) over any other shade, but the bright splashes of color in the recent Resort collections are really inspiring us. We aren’t ready for a hot lilac and fuchsia ensemble à la YSL just yet, but an eye-popping Pucci print isn’t a bad place to start. The yellow, blue, and white pattern on this silk scarf will stand out against our favorite blacks and whites without looking flashy. Click the image to shop.

Back to the Future
The seventies may be the decade of choice for the moment, but thanks to John Galliano’s latest outing for Dior, fashion could be heading for a detour into the swinging sixties. If you aren’t in a mod state of mind, we suggest trying these chic Courrèges Vintage shades on for size. The graphic black and white frames are counterculture cool, but they won’t look out of place with a twenty-first-century wardrobe. Click the image to shop.
