Bohemian Rhapsody

-------

Boho may’ve been one of the top trends of the Aughties (thanks in no small part to Sienna Miller and the sisters Olsen), but we recommend taking a page from Erin Wasson‘s playbook and going more L.E.S. than Hollywood for a nouveau take on the look. Stacks of jewelry and an artfully dissembled outfit are complemented best by a few well-placed feathers, and we have a hunch Ms. Wasson would approve of these peacock plumes courtesy of Jennifer Ouellette. We imagine tucking the barrette behind our ear so that the feathers dangle low in our tresses, or even wearing them as a makeshift bracelet or necklace. Click the image to shop.

Gibson Girl 2.0

-------

Innerwear as outerwear isn’t exactly news, but the trend does seem to have new appeal thanks to divas like Lady Gaga and Rihanna. While designers showed everything from tap shorts to bra tops on the runways, we recommend going the classic route with a sophisticated corset. You don’t have to be a bedazzled Jersey Shore gal to love the cinched silhouette. This laced-up number from Topshop has a sweet rose print befitting of a modern-day Gibson girl. Pair it with fall’s high, teased hair to show off enviable décolletage to maximum effect. Va-va-voom indeed. Click the image to shop.
