Youngji Cho

“In keeping with my interest in liminal space, my thesis collection explores the emotional and psychological differences between sleeping and working, drawing on my personal experience of working late at night at Parsons.”

Youngji Cho was born in South Korea and began studying in the U.S. eight years ago as an exchange student.

"Influenced by fine art and photography, my design occupies a place between the traditional and the avant-garde, allowing me to push boundaries while maintaining accessibility. In keeping with my interest in liminal space, my thesis collection explores the emotional and psychological differences between sleeping and working, drawing on my personal experience of working late at night at Parsons. Specifically, I draw on the material of bedding and duvet covers, repurposing their soft colors and textures to emphasize new visions for menswear design that also challenge our notions of comfort, humor, and historic tradition of menswear."
